Description
A manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Engineer to lead ISO 9001:2015 audit efforts at its Coachella, CA facility. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented quality professional who enjoys driving continuous improvement and wants to play a key role in maintaining a strong quality management system. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, lead corrective actions, and help the organization stay ahead of compliance requirements.
Quality Engineer Responsibilities - Perform internal and external quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, following an established annual audit schedule - Develop, plan, and update audit scope, objectives, and methodology - Prepare detailed, accurate audit reports outlining findings and any requirements not met - Issue and manage Corrective Action Requests, following up to ensure timely and effective resolution - Lead root cause investigations using tools such as 8D, RCA, DMAIC, and FMEA to drive process improvement - Maintain quality metrics, track audit results, and manage the risk register - Provide training on root cause analysis and proper corrective action response - Collaborate across departments and communicate audit findings clearly to support management decision making - Travel periodically to other facility locations to support audit activities
Quality Engineer Requirements: - 2-3 years of quality engineering experience, including 1-2+ years conducting quality audits - Certification through a recognized quality organization (such as ASQ) as an Internal Auditor, or equivalent experience with the ability to obtain certification - Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and audit processes - Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related technical field - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey audit findings and corrective actions
