About the job Quality Engineer-Des Moines, IA Quality EngineerLocation: Des Moines, IAWe are seeking an organized, experienced Quality Engineer to join our growing organization. In this position, you will work to improve existing quality control procedures and processes within our system and collaborate with team members to build new quality controls, tests, and verifications. Should have experience developing controlled processes that verify design outputs.Key Responsibilities:Initiate, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actionsSupport Quality systems implementation and assist in writing procedures and work instructionsParticipate in ISO-9001 auditing activitiesProvides support to our customers and sales reps regarding field quality issuesMonitor warranty returns, track and investigate common returnsTrack warranty claims, investigate and analyze trends, and report results and strategies to reduce claimsInteract with customers in a professional and customer service oriented approach, via written/e-mail or verbal on the phone or web, regarding a warranty claim investigation, process, and decisionsReviews returned material from customer, verifies the customer complaint, develops plan to address root causes, and communicate with customers as neededDevelops and maintains quality standards and requirements for development and design projectsDevelops process for validation of design, evaluate the data, and write reportsImplement inspection plans for new projects and provide updates on current projects as requiredPerform verification and tests as requiredCollaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvementsCommunicates and resolve quality issues identified on the shop floorWorks with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improvement opportunities and implement an effective corrective actionDevelop employees through training, annual review, monitoring, and mentoringOther duties may be assignedBachelors Degree in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or related technical degree2-3 years of previous experience in a quality engineer, quality assurance, or related engineering or technical role within an automotive manufacturing environment are preferredExtensive analytical experience, including investigating issues, solutions to non-routine complex issuesKnowledge of and experience with ISO-9001 and/or quality systemsGood problem-solving abilities using a systematic, logical, and sequential approachWorking knowledge and understanding of basic design engineering practicesSelf-motivated person who can take initiative to complete tasks by targeted completion datesMust have hands on approach, identify issues and provide resolutionsAble to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyDetail oriented with strong organizational skillsExcellent technical writing and interpersonal communication skillsAn excellent team player who can interact effectively with all functionsAble to communicate, develop and positively influence other hourly personnel without direct authorityComputer skills with an aptitude in Microsoft Office products, specifically with good experience and skill using Microsoft Excel#J-18808-Ljbffr
