Our design and engineering capabilities allow us to provide complex components and assemblies to our original equipment manufacturer customers. Pay varies by position and is based on multiple factors including labor market data and, depending on position, may include education, work experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and/or certifications. Additionally, Sportech takes into account the internal equity of current employees when considering compensation. Sportech's reasonable and good-faith estimate for the range of new hire compensation at the time of posting for this position is between $77,500 - $92,500 annually. Pay may also include variable compensation from time to time such as overtime for non-exempt positions, shift differential for specific shifts, and/or bonus targets (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).Job SummaryThis position will oversee the Sportech quality program by applying knowledge of systems and statistical techniques to develop and continually improve operations. The Quality Engineer understands the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control which includes development and operation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures and ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct issues.Essential Job FunctionsServe as the primary quality assurance resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, loss reporting and continual improvement.Effectively communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvementsResponsible for customer warranty claims processing and resolving quality concerns.Responsible for corrective action activities internally and externally with all suppliers and customersSupplier inspection and testing of materials, parts and products to ensure adherence to standards.Monthly Quality Metrics - Scrap %, Scrap $, Customer Complaints, Corrective Actions, and Warranty.Supplier Approval Process - Assessments, Audits and Approval for purchased products and components.Provide input for acceptance and future purchases from suppliers.Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities.Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities.Works with outside 3rd party inspection labs as required.Lead, participate in, or champion continual improvement projects, kaizen events and cost reduction programs.Leads department meetings and performs quarterly and annually reviews of Quality Team.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's Degree required with 3 - 5 years related experienceExcellent internal and external customer services skillsUnderstanding of quality cost concepts and techniques with knowledge and ability to develop and audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.Strong understanding of manufacturing processesFamiliarity with product quality knowledge and familiarity with Powersports (ISO or TS systems) industry specifications/codes/standards/preferredProficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).#J-18808-Ljbffr
