Brooksource Engineering Services is seeking a Quality Engineer to support manufacturing, operations, and engineering teams in the development and production of high-quality products. This individual will play a key role in new product introduction (NPI), process development, and root cause investigations , while driving continuous improvement across quality systems and manufacturing processes.Key ResponsibilitiesNew Product Introduction (NPI) & Process QualitySupport launch activities for new product introductions through APQP processesDevelop and maintain process documentation including:PFMEA / DFMEAControl PlansProcess Flow DiagramsWork InstructionsCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering and operations to ensure product readinessReview product performance data and troubleshoot anomalies with cross-functional teamsPromote quality best practices through coaching in:Statistical methodsProcess controlRoot cause analysisInterpret metrology data and recommend tooling or process improvementsReview and approve supplier PPAP submissions in alignment with AIAG standardsQuality Investigations & Continuous ImprovementLead root cause investigations for internal and external quality issuesPartner with suppliers, operations, and purchasing to establish quality standards and KPIsInvestigate and resolve issues related to components and subassembliesCoordinate testing and validation activities to determine issue scope and root causeDevelop and manage corrective action reports (internal and supplier-driven)Support supplier quality improvement initiativesMeasurement Systems & Technical ExpertiseServe as a subject matter expert in:Measurement systems analysis (MSA / GR&R)Capability analysisGD&T and tolerance stack-upsEnsure accuracy and compliance of internal and third-party testing (ISO, SAE, FMVSS, etc.)Support integration of robust design and tolerance methodologies into product developmentQuality Management System (QMS)Support implementation and maintenance of QMS aligned with:ISO 9001:2015IATF 16949Participate in internal audits and continuous improvement of QMS processesTrack and analyze Cost of Quality (COQ) and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metricsDrive initiatives to reduce defects and improve overall product qualityQualificationsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong understanding of quality and engineering tools:APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSAExperience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, etc.)Ability to analyze data and make timely, informed decisionsStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teamsExperience in manufacturing environments (e.g., injection molding, stamping, assembly preferred)Knowledge of metrology, GD&T, and measurement systemsPreferredAutomotive or regulated manufacturing experienceSix Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturersEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field3+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality assuranceCombination of office and manufacturing floor environmentExposure to moderate noise levels and production settingsAbility to lift up to 30 lbs occasionallyTravel up to 20% (potentially including supplier or client sites)Why Brooksource Engineering Services?At Brooksource Engineering Services, we connect top engineering talent with impactful projects across advanced manufacturing and regulated industries.
