We believe in promoting from within and are committed to providing the mentorship, training, and opportunities needed to help the right person progress into a leadership role within our company.If you're ready to start your career journey with an organization that invests in your professional development and offers a clear path to management, we encourage you to apply.Position Summary:The Quality Engineer is a technical expert who is responsible for supporting the Operations and Engineering groups in the design and launch of new products, as well as leading root cause analysis investigations that arise from internal production or external customer issues.Essential Functions: Support the launch activity for new product introductions Create, submit, review, and support development of process documentation, including FMEA, Control Plans and work instructions.Actively promote high quality products and processes through mentoring and coaching of team members in statistics, process control, root cause analysis, etc.Ensure testing methods are properly understood, carried out and evaluated.Review product performance results noting any testing anomalies and working with cross functional team for resolution.Effectively interact with the Operations and Engineering teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products through APQP process.Ideal candidate with have background with injection molding, stamping and light assembly processes.Ability to gather and interpret metrology data and make recommendations for tooling corrections.Review and approve supplier PPAP's based on AIAG guidelines and manufacturing best practices.Lead customer-related root cause investigations of quality issues Work with Operations, Purchasing and/or the Supplier Development Team to establish quality requirements and tracking metrics for internal manufacturing and suppliersInvestigate, document and resolve quality issues with components and subassemblies built internally or purchased from suppliers. Travel to customers or suppliers as required.Coordinate testing of components and subassemblies to determine the scope and cause of quality issuesCreate customer Corrective Action reports. Review & approve supplier Corrective ActionsBe an in-house expert in measurement methods and tools, GR&R, and capability analysis Support the implementation of good GD&T practice and component tolerance methodology on new component and assembly drawingsUnderstand and be able to verify that any FMVSS, ECE, ISO, or SAE test conducted internally or at a third party facility was executed correctlyQuality Management System Support implementation, integration and maintenance of the Quality Management System to ISO9001:2015 and IATF-16949Participate with the development and refinement of internal quality procedures and other QMS system processes though internal audit activity.Support the tracking, report and improvement of the Cost of Quality and Cost of Poor Quality across all manufacturing sites and drive improvement activity.Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Quality Manager.Role Qualifications:Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements: Automotive industry experience is ideal with background of building relationships with OEM global customers and suppliers.Strong communication skills, to include spoken, written and presentation skills.Solid analytical, and interpersonal skills.Team leader with skills to motivate and mentor team members.Ability to quickly analyze data and make time-sensitive decisions.Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis methodologies.Knowledge of recognized Quality and Engineering systems, including as a minimum: APQP, PPAP, Process Flow Chart, PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC & Problem Solving.Experience in manufacturing and/or tooling design.Experience in Quality Management Systems and system audits.6 sigma experience (Green Belt & above)Experience in ISO 9001 or IATF16949Metrology, GD&T, measurement methodology, and gauge designEducation and Experience: College graduate with Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Engineering or related technical disciplineMinimum 3 years' experience in Quality AssuranceProven history of creativity and developing innovative solutions to highly complex technical requirementsDemonstrated record of building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, peers, subordinates and managementStrong PC skills (MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point etc.)Demonstrated experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and distributorsPhysical Demands and Work Environment: Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. Valid passport will be needed and will potentially travel internationally up to 20% of the time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is moderate. The factory floor is in the same building as the office. Occasional outdoor all weather exposure for testing and/or customer support may be required.
