Job Position: Quality Engineer
Position Summary
The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining product and process quality within an industrial and aerospace manufacturing environment. This position will work closely with Engineering, Production, Inspection, and Management to ensure products and processes meet customer, internal, ISO 9001:2015, and AS9100D requirements.
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for First Article Inspections, internal audits, root cause investigations, nonconforming material, data analysis, design reviews, quality documentation, and continuous improvement activities. This position will also provide technical direction and support to the Inspection Department as needed.
Key Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare, review, and complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with customer and AS9100D requirements.
- Conduct and support internal audits to evaluate compliance with company procedures, ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D, and customer requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and trend quality data to identify recurring issues, process weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead or participate in root cause investigations and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and disposition nonconforming material in coordination with Engineering, Production, Inspection, and other appropriate departments.
- Participate in design and drawing reviews, providing input regarding manufacturability, inspection requirements, tolerances, and quality considerations.
- Assist with the development, revision, and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions, and other controlled documentation.
- Assist with maintaining quality records and documentation necessary to demonstrate compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to the Inspection Department
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of quality experience
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience working with AS9100D and/or ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Tasks in an industrial environment
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 or AS9100D
- Experience with Internal auditing
- Experience with GD&T.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical assembly diagrams and mechanical drawings
- Ability to use both digital and analog outside, inside, and depth micrometers and calipers
- Ability to use a microscope
- Ability to use a personal computer including Microsoft Office programs with detailed skills with Excel.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility but will provide technical direction and guidance to the Inspection Team as needed.

- Ability to life weight up to a maximum of 40 pounds
- Ability to sit at a desk for approximately 5 hours per day
- Ability to stand and/or walk for approximately 3 hours per day
- Ability to kneel, crouch, stoop, bend, and reach
- Manual dexterity to manipulate and inspect small parts
- Must have 20/20 vision or corrected 20/20.
