Description

Our client is seeking a Quality Engineer to support and enhance quality systems, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement initiatives across production operations. This role will partner with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to drive root cause investigations, audit readiness, process capability, and operational excellence within an AS9100-certified environment.

Description

  • Lead structured problem-solving initiatives utilizing methodologies such as PDCA, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Affinity Diagrams, and 8D investigations
  • Facilitate PFMEA activities and integrate findings into control plans, work instructions, and inspection plans
  • Implement poka-yoke solutions and conduct process capability studies, measurement system analyses, and Gage R&R evaluations
  • Maintain visual management systems, KPI tracking, defect monitoring, and escalation processes
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives that support scalable manufacturing growth
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Track, analyze, and report quality metrics including FPY, defect rates, customer escapes, COPQ, and DPMO
  • Execute CAPA activities including containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, verification, and effectiveness reviews
  • Maintain inspection records, First Article Inspection reports, and nonconforming material documentation
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party certification audits
  • Develop inspection and testing standards for incoming, in-process, and finished products
  • Prepare quality documentation and production records for customer source inspections
  • Participate in production reviews, new product introduction activities, engineering change reviews, and first article builds
  • Provide quality input during design reviews, process reviews, and manufacturing improvement projects
  • Investigate and disposition nonconforming material while minimizing impact to production schedules
  • Support supplier quality initiatives including supplier corrective actions, qualification efforts, and performance monitoring
  • Develop incoming inspection plans and maintain product traceability through ERP systems
  • Lead customer return investigations and perform root cause analysis on product failures
  • Prepare Certificates of Conformance, First Article Inspection packages, and customer-required quality documentation
  • Respond to customer quality inquiries, complaints, and audit requests

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of quality engineering experience within electro-mechanical manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 quality systems
  • Experience leading root cause investigations using 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D, FMEA, and related methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
  • Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, measurement systems analysis, and poka-yoke implementation
  • Strong statistical analysis skills including Cp/Cpk, Gage R&R, control charts, and sampling techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications
  • Experience supporting internal, customer, and certification audits
  • ERP system proficiency and advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results without direct authority
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification
  • Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR requirements
