Quality Engineers work with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management to assess quality and ensure all products are free from defects and in compliance with engineering and manufacturing specifications and government standards. They work to resolve any quality issues and provide guidance on process enhancements and improvements.ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIESSupport cross-functional teams in the execution and reporting of quality improvement projects with a focus on overall process improvements, scrap reduction and supplier quality improvement.Support Quality Inspectors to ensure products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the customer and the quality management system.Perform Quality Audits to determine the effectiveness of the Quality Program and prepare audit reports.Analyze quality performance utilizing statistical and analytical tools and methods data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.Review incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality.Conduct tests and assessments on products to identify quality issues.Manage suppliers' performance and conduct supplier audits.Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions, and preventive actions.Maintain detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and areas that result in flaws.Perform root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for internal and customer non-conformances.Assist disposition process by conducting failure analysis and suggest corrective actions as Material Review Board member.Assist with manufacturing scrap performance evaluation and management.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Assignments are received in the form of results expected, due dates and general procedures to follow.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional correspondence, policies, and procedures.
