General Atomics Aeronautical Systems

Job Summary:

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems.

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to drive product quality with the supply chain across the entire lifecycle — from new product introduction (NPI) through sustaining production — while ensuring AS9100 compliance, robust quality systems, and continuous improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Develop new suppliers to ensure product and flow-down compliance with GA-ASI and customer requirements.

+ Identify and drive supplier and product improvements based on supplier performance and product compliance metrics.

+ Conduct comprehensive supplier audits and on-site inspections to evaluate manufacturing processes and adherence to quality systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).

+ Perform root cause analysis using methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, and fishbone diagrams to identify and address quality problems effectively.

+ Identify and implement design or manufacturing changes to enhance quality, producibility, and cost efficiency.

+ Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality improvement projects to improve yield and reduce nonconformance.

+ Support and approve First Article Inspections (FAIs).

+ Perform on-site or virtual product verification activities (Source Inspection) to ensure product compliance prior to shipment.

+ Provide technical support to receiving inspection personnel with the resolution of confirmed and suspected quality nonconformances.

+ Serve as a technical quality liaison across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to resolve complex issues and ensure compliance.

+ We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply.
