As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for assuring quality in all phases of the fabrication/manufacturing process and ensuring continuous production of products consistent with established standards. The Quality Engineer ensures that all company products meet quality standards. Their primary responsibilities include understanding customer expectations and needs and implementing quality standards and control processes.
What You’ll Do:
- Performs the product launch process on new products released in the assigned departments.
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned products or components.
- Ensures inspection control plans are created, published, and maintained for all parts that fit the designated criteria.
- Works with buyers to address vendor quality and ensure appropriate investigation and corrective actions are taken
- Visual inspection of purchased products for nonconformance and documentation
- Interprets blueprints, drawings, sample models, or specifications to verify that parts meet Hunter's quality standards.
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data and evaluate current processes and process changes.
- Maintains the calibration database for all fixtures, tools, and gauges by determining the calibration frequency and methodology.
- Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures.
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities; ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and present information when needed
- Agile in decision-making skills and ability to articulate conformance issues to inspectors, supervisors, and hourly workers.
- Additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- 2-year technical degree in Electronics Technology or related field AND 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with quality assurance experience and basic knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design.
- Preferred - bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field AND 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with quality assurance experience and basic knowledge of mechanical and manufacturing theory and design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization.
- Highly proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a positive attitude, a high degree of initiative, and a desire for continuous learning
- Must be able to motivate, communicate, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on technical analyses.
