Quality Engineer

* Support supplier selection and qualification: develop and execute supplier capability assessments, request-for-quote/QC requirements, on site audits, and scorecards to identify and approve suppliers that meet technical, quality, capacity, and risk criteria.

 

* Define and communicate quality requirements: translate product specifications, drawing tolerances, performance targets, FMEA outputs, and customer requirements into clear supplier quality agreements, control plans, inspection criteria, and test protocols.

 

*  Plan and manage validation activities: create and oversee supplier validation plans (pilot builds, capability studies, MSA, functional and performance testing), schedule milestones, and ensure results demonstrate required process capability and product performance.

 

*  Own PPAP delivery and approval: coordinate supplier submission of PPAP packages to the correct level, review documentation (dimensional results, material certifications, process flow, control plan, FMEA, MSA, test reports), drive resolution of nonconformances, and authorize PPAP sign off.

 

*  Drive issue resolution and continuous improvement: investigate supplier defects or deviations using root cause methods (8D/Corrective Action), ensure timely corrective/preventive actions, track RAILs or CAPAs, and coach suppliers on containment and process improvements.

 

* Coordinate cross functional launch readiness and governance: act as the quality liaison with engineering, procurement, program management, and operations to confirm production readiness, maintain traceable documentation, support initial production runs, and escalate risks to meet launch timing and quality targets.
