    Description

    The Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager and supports quality assurance activities across the manufacturing process. This role helps ensure products meet specifications, reduce scrap, and maintain compliance with the plant's Quality Management System (QMS). The position works with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and address quality issues.Key Responsibilities:Support Optical Cable testing and inspection processes to ensure product qualityAssist in developing and maintaining inspection and test proceduresMaintain records to demonstrate compliance with specificationsSupport sampling methods and basic control plans to meet quality requirementsAssist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal and customer issuesReview returned materials and support investigation of quality complaintsHelp manage nonconforming material documentation and track related metricsMonitor and report quality performance metricsIdentify quality trends and support problem-solving activitiesSupport plant quality standards and QMS requirementsAssist with customer and regulatory audits/inspectionsCollaborate with operations, engineering, and other departments to improve processesPerform other duties as assignedRequirements:Basic understanding of quality systems and tools (SPC, root cause analysis, control plans)Proficiency in Quality Management Systems like ISO 9001Strong problem-solving and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a manufacturing environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office or similar systemsExperience:3+ years of manufacturing or quality experienceFamiliarity with ISO or similar quality standardsExposure to root cause analysis, corrective actions, or Lean toolsWire & cable or similar industry experience is a plusEducation:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferredPrysmian, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities.
