Find your future with us and join our team!What You Do Initially will lead the establishment and ramp-up of quality engineering at a large, high-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation.As part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also: Develop and sustain the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA Business (Quality) Management SystemEstablish strong team member relations at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusionCollaborate with Japanese team members from Mazda and ToyotaResponsible for Supplier/ Business Quality Management and systems through the Quality EngineersResponsible for Completed Vehicle quality and supplier inspection standardsResponsible for creating and maintaining Completed Vehicle inspection standardsDevelop plans and strategies that support division policies and business plan with good milestone management.Promptly identify and analyze manufacturing process related problemsAnalyze customer (internal and external) data and create plans to visualize and improve (why made and why shipped)Develop actions for Quality improvement and stabilizationFollow-up on shop activities and support countermeasure development when projects, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or plans fall behindImprove the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost and Development Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Mass Production and New Model launchEnsure daily floor management systems supporting long-term strategy development and achievementSupport organizational capability development in problem solvingDevelop short and long-term quality department strategies supporting Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA initiativesEnsure project milestone management with follow-up and next stepsLead Daily Floor Management ensuring quality parts to the customerUse Floor Management Systems to visualize the floor condition and promote KPI improvementResponsible for training, process development, equipment validation, systems, and document controlManage new model and capital budgetsAbility to drive company vehicle (MVR check required) for quality testing on and off siteSupporting launch of new product for Parts, Stamping, Doors, Body, Paint, Sealers, and adhesives during Major/ Minor model, running changes, and Mass ProductionLeading root cause analysis with Early Detection Early Resolution of MTM Raw Material and Parts Assurance including but not limited to: Troubleshooting, analysis and approvals; Material/ Parts Inspection standard development, investigation and countermeasure, controls, evaluation, escalation and management, parts quality, and workability studies of new material developmentLead the investigation of non-conformance, working with supplier and technical staff to provide quick resolution and establishing corrective actions preventive actions to avoid reoccurrence.Ability to work outside of typical business hours and travel as needed (domestically and internationally)What You Bring High School Diploma or GEDExperience with Supplier development, or project management, and/or project part launchQuick, timely, innovative, factual/ accurate, result oriented decision making, driven self-starter, and team playerExperience reading part/component drawings and conveying technical informationExperience with presentation development and executionManufacturing, Production or Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; with a preference for Quality Engineering experienceDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of ProductsWhat Will Set You Apart Bachelor's degree in engineering, or technical field (Science, Technology, Math)2+ years of relevant experience in Manufacturing, Production or Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; with a preference for Quality Engineering experienceExperience with development of PFMEA's, and manufacturing control plansExperience in strategic planning, and project managementJapanese language or professional experience working with a Japanese or other internationally - owned companyExperience with consensus buildingExperience with the development, testing, launch, and commercialization of automotive paints, sealants and adhesives, and partsWhat We Offer At Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA Inc., we offer the opportunity to end each day with a smile and a sense of pride in the work that you do.
