The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced QA Mechanical Engineer to ensure mechanical systems and products meet strict engineering specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. You will develop and execute inspection processes, lead mechanical failure investigations, and work cross-functionally to enhance product quality.

What you will do?

  • Inspect and validate mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems against ASME, AWS, ASTM standards.
  • Develop and implement mechanical QA inspection procedures and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead root cause analysis for defects and manage corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Verify supplier quality for incoming materials and fabricated components.
  • Manage and maintain QA documentation including inspection reports, NCRs, and test data.
  • Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives for process improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical codes, safety regulations, and internal standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of mechanical engineering or QA experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools (CMM, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, mechanical codes, and standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Skilled in QA tools: SPC, FMEA, PPAP, control plans.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • ASQ Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI)
  • ASME GDTP Certification
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Safety
