Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to support new product launches and drive continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment located in Memphis, TN. This role focuses on implementing quality standards, managing corrective actions, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure high-quality production and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality planning for new product introductions using APQP methodologies.
  • Support quoting and process design from a quality perspective.
  • Develop inspection processes, control plans, and documentation.
  • Investigate customer and supplier discrepancies and drive corrective actions (8D, RCA).
  • Partner with suppliers on quality improvements and audits.
  • Implement and maintain ISO and quality system requirements.
  • Analyze data using SPC and other quality tools to improve processes.
  • Support training initiatives related to quality standards and practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and customers.
  • Supervise quality technicians and inspectors.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial, or similar).
  • 5+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing, preferably in electronics.
  • Experience with core quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D, SPC, Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ISO standards and audits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Experience with new product introductions and quality planning.
  • Experience with corrective and preventative actions.
  • Experience working with suppliers and customers.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as PFMEA, PFD, Control Plans, 8D, A3, DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, PPAP, AQP, Audit, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Process Capacity, 3Way 5Whys, Risk Assessment, and Failure Tree Analysis.
  • ISO certification programs and experience in Lean manufacturing principles.

Work Environment

The role is in a manufacturing setting with cross-functional collaboration. It involves a hands-on approach supporting production, suppliers, and customers. The environment is extremely clean and temperature-controlled. The dress code requires work pants and a polo or button-down shirt. Composite toes are required in the work cell at all times. No leggings, jeggings, cut-off shirts, or pants with holes are permitted.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $45.00/hr.
