Our client is looking to hire a quality engineer for their team in McConnelsville, Ohio! Our client is a leader in developing and manufacturing high-precision, high-strength components for a wide range of industries.
The Quality Engineer would be responsible for ensuring high-quality standards across customer projects, production processes, and supplier interactions.
Qualified candidates would need experience working within a manufacturing facility, managing quality systems, developing control documents, and with new product development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Actively exchange technical and quality information with Business Units
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with customer quality representatives.
- Manage and participate in customer quality audits.
- Understand and apply customer-specific quality systems (e.g., ZF QR 83).
- Provide quality support for PSD projects until handover to production.
- Alert and update QUAM when customer-specific documentation changes occur.
- Perform internal process audits, including supplier audits.
- Support feasibility studies with the Product Engineering team.
- Support employees in implementing safety-related requirements.
- Perform risk identification and create associated safety instructions.
- Review engineering drawings for measurement feasibility, techniques, and required devices.
- Define and design measurement equipment and CAQ inspection sketches.
- Procure and approve measuring devices and equipment.
- Conduct measurement of prototype, off-tool, and off-process parts.
- Prepare and update Control Plans, Inspection Sheets, Process Flow Charts, Capability Studies, Inspection Reports, and other documentation according to customer requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Associates Degree in engineering or equivalent field
- Experience within a manufacturing setting
- Managing quality systems
- Experience developing control documents
- 3+ years of past quality engineering experience
- Experience with various quality core tools like IATF requirements, 8D methodology, PDCA, APQP/PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and SPC
