PGS Worldwide is seeking a Quality Engineer for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position is onsite full time and focuses on developing, maintaining, and auditing quality standards, work instructions, and inspection procedures for machined parts. The Quality Engineer will evaluate product requirements and documentation, resolve quality issues, lead investigations and corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
At least 3 years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
At least 3 years of experience writing work instructions and First Article Inspections (FAIs).
At least 3 years of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience.
At least 3 years of experience using inspection gages and measuring equipment.
Ability to perform technical evaluations of product requirements, specifications, drawings, and process documentation.
Ability to partner with program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; an active clearance is not required to start.
What You’ll Do
Develop, maintain, and audit quality standards, work instructions, and inspection procedures for machined parts.
Perform technical evaluations of product requirements, specifications, drawings, and process documentation.
Partner with cross-functional teams and customers to resolve quality issues and ensure compliance with applicable standards.
Lead failure investigations and Material Review Board (MRB) actions.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to support reliability and regulatory compliance.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve internal and supplier performance and productivity.
