Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure product and process quality by maintaining workmanship standards and
adhering to quality program requirements
- Analyze data from customer feedback, internal defects, and supplier performance to identify quality trends and issues
- Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, production, purchasing, etc.) to investigate and resolve quality concerns
- Implement and monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address
nonconformances
- Drive defect reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop, review, and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, test procedures, and work instructions
- Ensure all special characteristics are identified and properly managed within control plans
- Define and implement process controls, including data collection, monitoring, and analysis methods
- Evaluate nonconforming materials and initiate supplier containment and corrective actions
- Manage supplier quality performance for assigned suppliers
- Determine requirements for incoming inspections and maintain related procedures and documentation
- Establish and maintain quality standards, boundary samples, and appearance master samples
- Ensure all process and product changes meet customer requirements and are
properly documented and approved
- Notify management of quality issues and nonconforming products in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, including IATF 16949 (TS-16949) and internal systems
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred
- Experience in a Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
(automotive preferred)
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards, including IATF 16949 (TS-16949)
- Experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive corrective actions
- Experience with control plans, PFMEA, and process validation
- Knowledge of supplier quality management and incoming inspection processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with quality tools such as Minitab or similar statistical analysis software
- Familiarity with APQP, PPAP, and other automotive core tools
- Continuous improvement mindset with Lean or Six Sigma experien
