Quality Engineer Job Description:

PrideStaff is working with a large family-owned manufacturing facility in search of an experienced Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer will ensure ISO 9001 QMS meets customer and regulatory requirements while working with internal employees to execute projects with high-quality standards. The ideal Quality Engineer demonstrates excellent attention to detail, has multiple years of experience in a similar quality manufacturing role, and is familiar with API 6A and 6D. The Quality Engineer is a full-time, direct-hire position in Santa Fe, TX.


Quality Engineer Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Implement, & Maintain Quality Standards to Ensure 100% Customer Satisfaction & Adherence to Specifications
  • Lead Cross-Functional Investigations Into Internal & External Non-Conformance
  • Utilize 5-Way, Fishbone, or 8D Methodologies to Identify The Source of Failures & Implement Permanent Corrective Actions
  • Manage Improvement Projects (Lean/Six Sigma) to Reduce Scrap, Rework, & Manufacturing Variances
  • Monitor & Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Author & Manage Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) & Standard Work Documents Within The Quality Document Control System to Ensure Manufacturing Consistency
  • Conduct Internal Audits of Work Procedures to Ensure Compliance
  • Communicate Technical Non-Conformances to Suppliers & Internal Production Teams, Following up to Verify That Process Adjustments Are Effective
  • Inspect & Approve Incoming Materials, In-Process Production, & Finished Goods Against Engineering Drawings & Specifications
  • Issue Corrective Actions Where Appropriate & Manage Containment Efforts Where Needed For Non-Conforming Products
  • Manage All Production Gauges; recommending Gauges For New Parts & Keeping Existing Gauges Calibrated
  • Serve as a Technical Subject Matter Expert, Educating & Training Floor Personnel on Quality Best Practices, Blueprint Reading, & Measurement Techniques
  • Must Adhere to All Safety & PPE Requirements


Quality Engineer Job Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • BA/BS in Engineering or Related Field Required
  • 2+ Years of Quality, Inspection, Engineering or Manufacturing Role Required
  • Solid Understanding of API 6A & 6D, API Q1, & ISO 9001
  • Proficient in 5-Why, Fishbone (Ishikawa), or 8D Methodologies
  • Previous Experience Using Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges & Thread Gauges
  • Solid Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, & Quality Management Systems
  • Must be Able to Read & Interpret Blueprints & Engineering Drawings
  • Excellent Organizational, Leadership & Problem Solving Skills
  • Excellent Verbal & Written Communication Skills
