Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to maintain and enhance quality systems in alignment with ISO 9001 standards. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement and process optimization, ensuring high-quality output within our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain quality systems and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Lead audits, FAI processes, and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
  • Partner cross-functionally to resolve quality issues and improve performance.
  • Develop and maintain control plans, documentation, and training materials.
  • Monitor performance metrics and report on improvements.
  • Support new product design reviews and process risk mitigation.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or another related field, if degreed.
  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in engineering or another related field, if non-degreed.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, quality control, or quality assurance function.
  • Intermediate PC skills including spreadsheet, word processing, and databases.
  • Working knowledge of statistics and statistical methods used in quality functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Proficiency with quality tools used for problem solving and quality improvement.
  • Working knowledge of production processes, welding processes, and material properties.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of IATF, AS, or ISO quality management systems.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated application of AIAG or ASQ industry standard quality toolsets.
  • Ability to accurately measure using precision metrology tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or another related field is preferred.
  • Company product and application knowledge.
  • Applicable American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large manufacturing facility, focusing on the production of sheet metal for shelving units. The work involves spending time on the manufacturing floor, working alongside production support and on new projects. The facility is equipped with new, state-of-the-art equipment. The work environment is flexible, with a casual dress code and a laid-back atmosphere. Training and certification opportunities are abundant. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
