Overall Purpose of the Role:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products and manufacturing processes meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role drives continuous improvement through effective quality systems, proactive risk management, and robust problem-solving, while supporting new product launches, production excellence, and customer satisfaction within a fast-paced automotive Tier 1 environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support APQP, PPAP, and FMEAactivities for new and existing programs
  • Maintain and improve Quality Management Systems (QMS)in compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements
  • Drive Quality Assuranceinitiatives to ensure product conformity and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and improve product and process qualitythrough data analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities
  • Plan and conduct internal audits, support external/customer audits, and ensure timely closure of findings
  • Maintain and implement control plans and associated documentation
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement preventive measures
  • Support root cause analysis, CAPA, and problem-solving activities using standard quality tools
  • Track, maintain, and coordinate calibration of inspection, test, and measurement equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards, accuracy requirements, and scheduled calibration intervals.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 4-Year college degree or 5 years equivalent experience
  • Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred
  • Experience in an automotive Tier 1 environment
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949standards and audit requirements, certifications preferred.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and core quality tools
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Composites experience is an asset
  • OEM Supplier Portal experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Metrology
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in PLEX ERP software system is desired.
