Job Title: Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer supports the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Quality Management System by ensuring that products, processes, and documentation consistently meet internal and external quality standards. This role works closely with manufacturing, assembly, engineering, and quality teams to analyze defects, develop and implement quality procedures, perform audits, and drive corrective and preventive actions. The position offers the opportunity to influence product quality and operational excellence at a system-wide level while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Responsibilities + Maintain the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and ensure ongoing compliance across the organization. + Execute and promote the company-wide Process of Continuous Improvement (PCI) to enhance quality and operational performance. + Provide guidance and support in interpreting industry standards and internal policies to ensure compliance with applicable requirements. + Analyze and interpret company data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities, and provide recommendations related to quality. + Coordinate and maintain all aspects of the company's Quality Management System programs, ensuring alignment with ISO requirements. + Ensure all quality documentation is complete, controlled, and accessible, including quality manuals, quality plans, certifications, work instructions, and internal audit records. + Interface with key suppliers to maintain internal quality standards and support supplier quality improvement initiatives. + Manage the Non-Conformance (NCR) and Corrective Action (CAPA) processes, including coordination of root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions. + Develop and deliver Quality training for employees at all levels to reinforce quality standards, procedures, and best practices. + Review project documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with internal requirements and customer specifications. + Create and implement inspection plans using manual metrology tools and coordinate the use of CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment. + Review and interpret engineering drawings to verify that internal and external quality standards are met and maintained. + Support verification and validation activities for equipment and software, including testing and documentation in alignment with relevant standards. + Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, efficiency, and consistency. + Lead initiatives that drive measurable improvements in quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). + Collaborate daily with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and support continuous improvement projects. + Communicate findings, recommendations, and status updates clearly through verbal reports, written documentation, and presentations. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering-related field. + 5+ years of experience working within a documented ISO Quality Management System environment. + Demonstrated experience maintaining and improving ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. + Hands-on experience with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) processes and root cause analysis. + Background in manufacturing quality, including working with production and assembly operations. + Experience with supplier quality and collaborating with external partners to maintain quality standards. + Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools; experience with Microsoft Access and statistical software packages is preferred. + Proficient in MS Office applications and ERP systems. + Experience with verification and validation testing for equipment and software, including related documentation. + Training with certification in Six Sigma and LEAN methodologies. + Ability to identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes to support continuous improvement. + Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable recommendations. + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities. + Self-driven mindset with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously to achieve KPIs. + Results-driven approach that reinforces accountability and drives performance against metrics. + Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. + Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and technical specifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience executing company-wide continuous improvement programs such as PCI or similar initiatives. + Exposure to advanced manufacturing processes and cutting-edge quality methodologies. + Experience developing and delivering training programs for diverse audiences. + Comfort working with manual and CMM metrology equipment for inspection and verification. + Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, engineering, and manufacturing. + Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing documentation and audit records. + Ability to lead impactful initiatives that deliver measurable quality and operational improvements. + Comfort operating within an environment that emphasizes innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Tacoma, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
