Job Description Job Description About the Role:The Quality Engineer (QE) is responsible for planning, implementing, and improving product and process quality for precision tube and manifold manufacturing supporting Aviation, Space, Defense, and Commercial customers. This role ensures compliance to AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management system requirements, drives robust root-cause/corrective action, supports new product introduction (NPI) and production sustainment, and partners cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program teams to deliver conforming product on time. The QE serves as a key technical interface for customer quality expectations, internal audits, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., SPC, process capability, error-proofing).Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards; support internal, customer, and third-party auditsLead nonconformance (NCR) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes, including root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)Support MRB activities with data-driven disposition recommendations (use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap)Develop inspection plans, sampling strategies, and acceptance criteria based on engineering requirementsDrive process capability and defect prevention using SPC, error-proofing, and continuous improvement toolsSupport New Product Introduction (NPI), engineering changes, and First Article Inspection (FAI) activitiesAnalyze quality metrics (scrap, yield, COPQ, escapes) and lead improvement initiativesInterface with customers on quality issues, complaints, waivers, and performance metricsCollaborate with Supplier Quality on audits, supplier qualification, and SCAR managementEnsure measurement system effectiveness (MSA, gage R&R, calibration traceability)Train and coach operators/inspectors on quality standards and best practicesMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace) or equivalent experience3+ years of quality engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense preferred)Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management SystemsExperience with NCR, MRB, and CAPA processes using structured problem-solving methodsAbility to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specificationsFamiliarity with inspection methods and statistical quality tools (SPC, control charts, Pareto analysis)Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsU.S. work authorization (ability to comply with ITAR/EAR requirements)Preferred Qualifications:Certification(s) such as ASQ CQE, CQA, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or internal auditor certification (AS9100/ISO 9001).Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) per AS9102 or equivalent customer requirements.Working knowledge of advanced quality planning and risk tools (PFMEA/FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, APQP/PPAP-like deliverables as required by customers).Supplier Quality experience including qualification, audits, SCAR management, and incoming inspection optimization.Hands-on experience with metrology systems (CMM, optical/vision systems), gage R&R, and calibration systems.Familiarity with special processes relevant to tubing/manifolds (heat treat, passivation, plating, NDT, cleanliness/contamination control, pressure/leak testing).Experience with ERP/MES and electronic QMS tools (eQMS) for NCR/CAPA/audit management.Why Join Us:Stable, growing aerospace manufacturing environmentOpportunity to work in a quality-driven, team-oriented cultureComprehensive medical coverage, vision, dentalPaid sick leave and paid vacation401k retirement planCostco membership8:00am - 4:30pm
