Quality Engineer

LOCATION: Tigard, OR

SALARY: $38/hr. DOE

SCHEDULE: Full-time; Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm

  • Own Quality Excellence: Take a lead role in maintaining and improving the ISO 9001 Quality Management System while driving continuous quality improvements across the organization.

  • Be a Trusted Quality Partner: Serve as the key contact for customers, auditors, and internal teams, leading audits, corrective actions, and quality initiatives that directly impact business performance.

  • Drive Meaningful Change: Utilize root cause analysis, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools to solve complex problems, improve processes, and support high-precision manufacturing for advanced technology industries.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring compliance through effective document control, quality procedures, work instructions, and audit-ready records.

  • Lead internal, customer, supplier, and certification audits, managing corrective and preventive actions through root cause analysis methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and FMEA.

  • Investigate customer complaints, supplier quality issues, nonconformances, RMAs, and material review activities while serving as the primary customer quality liaison and preparing quality reports, scorecards, and audit documentation.

  • Analyze quality performance metrics, calibration and traceability programs, scrap, rework, yield, and defect trends to identify improvement opportunities and drive Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives.

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, with 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems, audit management, corrective and preventive actions, root cause analysis, and customer-facing quality activities.

  • Experience with calibration programs, metrology, measurement systems, and the interpretation of engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.

  • Proficient in technical writing, documentation, data analysis, Microsoft Office applications, and ERP/MRP systems, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Preferred qualifications include ASQ CQE or CQA certification, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, and experience in aerospace, semiconductor, medical device, precision machining, or other high-tech manufacturing environments utilizing SPC, process capability analysis, supplier quality, and Lean methodologies.




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and use a computer and standard office equipment for extended periods while performing audits, inspections, documentation, and data analysis activities. Must be able to occasionally lift and move materials or equipment up to 35 pounds and safely access manufacturing, laboratory, and production areas while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
