This role serves as the technical authority for welding processes, welder qualification, and metallurgical problem-solving, while driving continuous improvement in welding technologies and quality systems.This position works closely with Production Engineering, Quality, and OEM customers to ensure compliance with AWS, ISO 3834-2, and ISO 9001 standards. The role plays a critical part in OEM readiness, structured problem-solving, and maintaining consistent welding quality across multiple sites.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and control Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) in compliance with AWS and ISO 3834-2 standards.Oversee welder qualification and certification processes, ensuring ongoing compliance with applicable codes and standards.Provide technical leadership and welding process support across multiple manufacturing plants.Analyze welding, metallurgical, and fabrication issues using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.Supervise and audit welding operations to ensure adherence to approved procedures and quality expectations.Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to maintain ISO 9001 and ISO 3834-2 compliance.Lead OEM readiness activities including APQP, PPAP, dimensional validation, and process capability studies.Manage OEM claims using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, A3, and 5 Whys.Monitor and improve internal process quality using SPC, PFMEA, and real-time quality dashboards.PCB Research, evaluate, and recommend new welding technologies, equipment, and automation solutions.Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to welding personnel to support skill development and procedural compliance.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, welding engineering, or quality leadership roles.Seniority LevelAssociateEmployment TypeFull-timeManufacturing, Engineering, and Quality AssuranceIndustriesManufacturing, Motor Vehicle Manufacturing, and Industrial Machinery ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Cindavi by 2x.BenefitsMedical insuranceVision insurance401(k)Paid maternity leavePaid paternity leave#J-18808-Ljbffr
