Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to maintain and enhance our Quality Management System (QMS). This role involves managing customer quality issues, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions. The Quality Engineer will develop and track quality metrics and KPIs, lead inspection activities for fabricated sheet metal components, and ensure supplier compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS), including NCR, CAR, RCA, 8D, ECN, and internal audit processes.
  • Manage customer quality issues, complaints, and warranty claims, ensuring timely root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and track quality metrics and KPIs to monitor product, process, and supplier performance.
  • Lead inspection activities across supplier, receiving, in-process, and final inspection for fabricated sheet metal components.
  • Qualify, onboard, and develop suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and fabrication standards.
  • Support production through NCR management, quality training, and collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, rework, and process inefficiencies in fabrication operations.
  • Promote a strong safety and quality culture throughout the manufacturing floor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred experience includes metal fabrication, welding, painting processes, SolidWorks, PDM/MRP/ERP systems, and drafting standards (ANSI Y14).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment involves collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams on the production floor. You will be working in a dynamic and fast-paced setting that requires adherence to safety and quality standards. The role may involve using SolidWorks, PDM/MRP/ERP systems, and adhering to ANSI Y14 drafting standards.

This is a Permanent position based out of Winneconne, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
