Quality Engineering Technician & CMM Programmer

HiFyve is hiring a Quality Engineering Technician & CMM Programmer in the Precision Machining industry!

Pay: $20 - $30+/hour 

Shift: Day Shift M-F

Location: On-site in Grand Rapids, MN

Position Overview:

HiFyve is partnering with an established precision machining manufacturer seeking a Quality Engineering Technician & CMM Programmer to support inspection, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring customer specifications and quality standards are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will have experience programming CMM equipment, performing dimensional inspections on machined components, analyzing inspection data, and partnering with production teams to resolve quality concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs for machined components

Program and operate Zeiss CMM equipment using Calypso and/or similar software platforms

Perform dimensional inspections on in-process and finished products

Utilize precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, gauge pins, gauge blocks, and optical comparators

Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, blueprints, and GD&T requirements

Analyze inspection data and maintain accurate quality documentation

Work with management and production teams to identify and resolve quality issues

Support root cause investigations and corrective/preventive action activities

Contain and disposition non-conforming material as required

Perform calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of inspection equipment

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality function

Maintain compliance with customer, company, and quality system requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience programming CMM equipment required

Experience with Zeiss CMMs and Calypso software strongly preferred

Experience with MetroMech, CMM Manager, or similar software preferred

Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation

Experience inspecting precision machined components

Knowledge of dimensional inspection and quality control practices within manufacturing

Ability to analyze measurement data and identify process improvement opportunities

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Reliable attendance and strong sense of ownership and accountability

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Ability to move materials using carts, cranes, and material handling equipment

Ability to stand and remain active throughout the workday
