Overview:

**This is 100% remote position. CHLA requires a primary residence in California prior to start date. Will require on-site visits for monthly meetings and/or as needed by the department needs.**

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Quality Improvement Coordinator III provides ongoing support to medical staff and other departments for monitoring the quality of care and service provided to our patients and families, including, but not limited to: managing projects and coordinating activities for Patient Safety, performance improvement projects, supporting infection control, maintaining program’s quality management plan and quality management system, accreditation activities and initiatives. Provide expertise in study design, data collection, aggregation, and display of data for all quality activities and initiatives. Provides support to the Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Program Section Head and Transplantation and Cellular Therapy Laboratory Medical Director for developing, implementing, and measuring the outcomes of QI projects, including project management of and Patient Safety, and measuring the outcomes of PI projects. Supports the hospitals benchmarking efforts. Performs day-to-day Quality Improvement Activities in accordance with accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational performance improvement. Acts as a resource for the collection, laboratory processing, analysis and interpretation of data and measurement. Develops, recommends, implements, and integrates an organizational wide Performance Improvement (PI) process and philosophy. Manages the Quality Dashboard. Provides support for intramural and extramural PI and safety projects; oversees PI education. Provides support to Medical Staff Divisions and Departments for their QI and PI efforts. Independently manages program wide projects related to quality, safety, and PI. Presents to medical, program, and senior leadership. Also serves Quality Improvement Coordinator for the TCTL in case of TCTL QIC’s absence.

Lead quality improvement, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives across CHLA ambulatory clinics and Care Network primary care pediatric practices through data analysis, performance reporting, provider engagement, and implementation of improvement strategies.

 

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related work experience; 7-10 preferred. Experience in Quality Improvement required. Experience working with physicians and other health care professionals. Experience with clinical, safety, and quality data, and cellular therapy product processing.

 

Education/Licensure/Certifications: Master’s degree in health care, business or related field required. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) required.

Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
