Job Description

Position Title: Quality-Incoming Inspection Tech

Wage: $23-$24/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm Monday-Friday

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Quality-Incoming Inspection Tech for a company in Waukesha, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity.

Quality-Incoming Inspection Tech Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform inspection and testing of incoming materials and components according to established procedures, drawings, and specifications
- Review certificates of analysis, supplier documentation, and quality records for accuracy and compliance
- Use measuring and testing equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) to validate product dimensions and quality
- Identify and document non-conforming materials; initiate and support corrective actions
- Maintain accurate inspection records and reports in quality management systems
- Ensure compliance with company standards, ISO requirements, and safety regulations
- Setting up and running hardness testing, dimensional testing and nondestructive test (MPI)
- Record, report and gage test samples
- Prepare and provide documentation of test results
- Cut-up of test samples with Disk saw
- Troubleshoot testing equipment
- Assist with urgent testing needs for the production line
- Run product tests because of field failures to determine root cause and need for investigation
- Determine grain sizing of specimens
- Enter data in database and devise necessary charts and reports
- Program and operate on CMM
- Program and operate on scanner/probing Arm
- Program and operate on probing Laser tracker
- Process testing in timely and efficient manner
- Perform appropriate tests
- Provide accurate root cause analysis on field failures

Quality-Incoming Inspection Tech Requirements:
- Associate degree in related field; or 5-7 years in a quality role in a manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other technical curriculum preferred
- MPI (Magnetic Partical Inspection) certification preferred
- 2 years of product testing experience preferred
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Proficient in English language
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Understand testing procedures
- Understanding of customer specifications
- Knowledge of blueprint reading
- Knowledge of ASTM standards
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
- Understanding of non-conformance and corrective action processes (CAPA)
- Excellent oral and written language ability
- Intermediate mathematical ability (ratios/proportions, statistics, some calculus)
- Excellent problem-solving and reasoning ability
- Basic understanding of chemistry foundations and symbols
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform under stress
- Manual skills such as those necessary for maintaining machines and operating testing equipment
- Ability to operate testing equipment such as spectrometers, micrometers, microscopes, and hand tools
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow testing procedures
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Polyworks SW and Calipso SW is a plus
- May require constant reaching, handling, and using fingers; frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping and repetitive motions; and occasional smelling
- Vision abilities may require constant use of near acuity and color vision; and frequent use of depth perception
- Environmental conditions may include constant noise, frequent contact with liquids, frequent vibration, and occasional atmospheric conditions
- Hazards may include occasional proximity to moving, mechanical parts and frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals
- May require medium physical strength: exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
