Job Title: Quality Inspector 1
Location: Hamilton, OH 45015
Pay Rate: $17.00 – $19.00/hr
Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday – Friday
Reports To: Quality Manager
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections on products at various stages of production. This role ensures that customer specifications are met and that company quality standards remain consistent with current ISO and safety requirements.
In-Process Inspection: Perform random roving inspections to verify that process specifications are maintained based on cycles provided by the Quality Manager.
Setup Verification: Execute "first piece" inspections upon completion of equipment setups where applicable.
Non-Conformance Reporting: Input "Z notifications" into SAP for non-conforming purchased (Z2) or manufactured (Z3) items.
Communication: Document and communicate non-conformances via email to shift supervisors and quality team members.
Area Maintenance: Assist in product disposition, cleanup, and maintenance of the designated quality hold area.
Calibration Oversight: Check the calibration status of measuring equipment on the factory floor and follow CMC processes to ensure items are within their valid calibration dates.
Documentation Management: Source quality documentation (SOPs, work instructions, process maps) and controlled documents (drawings, inspection charts) within SAP or local drives.
Quality Workflows: Become familiar with quality hold, in-process rejection (IPR), material review board (MRB), and internal corrective action processes.
Training Assistance: Support quality training to ensure employees are educated on proper techniques and adherence to quality requirements.
Professional Experience: At least 1–2 years of quality inspector experience specifically within the manufacturing industry.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in the use and knowledge of calipers.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience sourcing quality documentation via SAP.
