Position Purpose: The Quality Inspector I utilizes Quality Plans and Work Instructions to perform mechanical inspection and product performance testing on components, assemblies, and/or finished goods to ensure conformance to specification.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:
- Collects product samples and prepares them for inspection
- Inspects and tests materials, parts, finished goods, packaging and subassemblies
- Compares inspection results to specification requirements to ensure compliance.
- Notifies Supervisors about products or materials with potential problems.
- Enters data, maintains records, and routes reports using appropriate software.
- Communicates with internal customers to support improvements
- Counts or estimates quantities of materials, parts, and products.
- Compares product labels, tags, etc.to confirm accuracy
- Performs inventory transactions in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, when applicable.
- Keeps the work area clean and orderly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced work environment.
- Verbal and written communication skills and the ability to comprehend work instructions.
- Knowledge of computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data or process information.
- Knowledge of common measurement tools and machinery
- Ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform data entry, view electronic procedures, and complete training courses.
- Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles)
- Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Ability to accurately perform basic calculations.
- Basic knowledge of control charts preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit during the shift to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to navigate stairs to gain access to all levels of work areas.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work in a variety of positions (bending, kneeling, crouching) to gain access to areas on machines.
- Ability to repetitively grasp objects with both hands during the scheduled shift.
