Job Responsibilities
- Inspect visually in-process and completed products using predetermined methods and specifications.
- Conduct inspections (visual, dimensional, and functional) on spacecraft components.
- Utilize various measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and Coordinate Measuring Machines.
- Make decisions regarding the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed.
- Inspect mechanical, electrical, or structural components and assemblies related to spacecraft.
- Collaborate with manufacturing operations and engineering personnel to improve processes and resolve documentation issues.
- Identify, document, and track non-conforming materials, and assist in identifying root causes.
- Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased parts and materials.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, logs, and reports.
- Work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED with at least 3 years of additional education and/or direct experience in quality assurance or inspection.
- Experience using various measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, and gages.
- US Citizenship is required.
Preferences
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend detailed control plans, work instructions, drawings, Bill of Materials, and specifications.
- Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface across the organization.
- Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
- Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.
