Job Title: Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Inspector performs detailed inspections of pre-assembled, partially assembled, and fully assembled aircraft parts and structures to ensure they meet customer, engineering, and regulatory requirements.This role reads and interprets customer instructions, blueprints, drawings, and statistical charts, uses precision measurement tools to verify part integrity, completes required inspection documentation, and supports internal audits and continuous improvement activities within the quality management system.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect pre-assembled, partially assembled, and fully assembled aircraft parts and structures to verify compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in establishing, documenting, and maintaining inspection criteria in accordance with external and internal requirements.
  • Prepare parts and documentation to meet external customer and regulatory criteria.
  • Complete all required inspection documentation accurately and on time, including First Article Inspections.
  • Accurately interpret customer purchase orders, blueprints, mylars, engineering drawings, schematics, and other technical documents to support the inspection process.
  • Utilize gauges, scales, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring equipment to verify part dimensions and integrity.
  • Read and interpret SPC charts and other statistical information to monitor process performance and identify trends or issues.
  • Conduct internal audits of the Quality Management System and document findings in accordance with established procedures.
  • Write and process customer submittal tags and related quality documentation as needed.
  • Perform visual inspections and final inspections of cable harnesses, electronic and electrical assemblies, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Inspect cable harness assemblies, wiring, soldered connections, and related components for workmanship and conformance to specifications.
  • Collaborate with work center teams and other problem-solving groups to address quality issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Handle and inspect sheet metal parts and assemblies, applying knowledge of metal fabrication fundamentals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all quality and safety procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lenexa, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
