Quality Inspector 2nd Shift

Key Responsibilities:Perform visual and dimensional inspection of various mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerance. Perform first piece and in-process inspection in assigned value stream.Identify defects in surface, dimensional, visual and non-conformities (material, documentation and workmanship) to blueprints and quality standards. Report non-conformance of materials or unusual conditions to Quality Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager.Use a variety of conventional and advanced inspection devices, CMM tools and instruments to verify dimensions to drawing specifications.Maintain records, data and logs as necessary. Create inspection forms such as IMS, first article and other related forms.Prepare products and related paperwork for presentation to customer or source inspector.Maintain clean and safe work environment. Follow safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Report safety incidents to supervisor.Make recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures. Contribute to 5S programs in work area.Provide a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contribute to positive teamwork environment.Obtain necessary fixtures and gauging to verify that the parts are within the specified parameters.Select gauging to minimize repeatability and reproducibility of the measured parametersIdentify out-of-tolerance conditions and report them via a nonconforming material report (NCR).Inspection of purchased materials and components, verification of certifications and test reports. Assure compliance to PO requirements.Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in training/learning other positions. Accomplish related results as needed.Requirements:Solid knowledge of GD & TWorking knowledge of measuring tools and devicesInterpret blueprintsDiagnose out of tolerance conditionsCommunicate effectivelyWorking knowledge of MS Word and MS ExcelHigh sense of urgency and ability to meet schedule requirementsEducation and Experience:7-10 plus years' experienceExperience working in an ISO9000 or AS9100 quality system.Experience using Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook. ERP system experience a plus.
