Position Overview

Stand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with a background in air cooler and heat exchanger manufacturing for a skilled quality-control opportunity in Tulsa. This position is responsible for inspecting fabricated products and components, verifying compliance with drawings and specifications, documenting inspection results, and identifying nonconforming work throughout the manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate has previous Quality Inspector experience specifically involving air coolers, heat exchangers, or closely related fabricated equipment and can confidently read technical drawings, perform dimensional and visual inspections, and communicate quality concerns with Production and Engineering personnel.

Required Experience & Skills

• Previous Quality Inspector experience in air cooler and heat exchanger manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of fabricated air cooler and heat exchanger components
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience performing dimensional inspections
• Experience performing visual inspections
• Proficiency with measuring instruments and inspection tools
• Ability to review product specifications and quality requirements
• Experience identifying and documenting nonconforming products
• Strong attention to detail and dimensional accuracy
• Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with Production and Engineering teams
• Commitment to maintaining company and customer quality requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Inspect air coolers and heat exchanger assemblies
• Inspect related fabricated components throughout production
• Review applicable blueprints and technical drawings
• Review product specifications and quality requirements
• Perform dimensional inspections
• Conduct visual inspections of manufactured components
• Verify completed work against applicable drawings and specifications
• Use measuring and inspection equipment to verify dimensions
• Document inspection results accurately
• Record quality findings and discrepancies
• Identify nonconforming products
• Communicate quality concerns to appropriate personnel
• Work with Production to address inspection findings
• Coordinate with Engineering when technical concerns arise
• Verify corrected or reworked components when required
• Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation
• Help ensure products meet company and customer requirements
• Perform additional quality-control and inspection duties as assigned

Air Cooler & Heat Exchanger Inspection

Candidates should have previous experience inspecting products such as:

• Air-cooled heat exchangers
• Heat exchanger assemblies
• Fabricated components
• Structural assemblies
• Related manufactured components and subassemblies

Industry-specific experience is important because candidates must understand the quality expectations associated with these types of fabricated products.

Blueprint & Specification Review

• Read and interpret fabrication blueprints
• Review technical drawings
• Identify applicable dimensions and tolerances
• Review customer and manufacturing specifications
• Compare completed components against drawing requirements
• Identify dimensional or fabrication discrepancies
• Communicate drawing or specification concerns to Engineering and Production personnel

Dimensional Inspection

Candidates should be comfortable using applicable measuring and inspection tools to:

• Verify component dimensions
• Check fabricated assemblies
• Confirm measurements against drawings
• Identify dimensional discrepancies
• Verify alignment and component positioning as applicable
• Document inspection measurements
• Confirm corrected components meet requirements

Visual Inspection

• Inspect products for visible workmanship concerns
• Identify fabrication defects
• Review completed components for overall quality
• Verify work meets applicable manufacturing requirements
• Identify areas requiring correction or additional review
• Communicate findings promptly to Production personnel

Nonconformance & Quality Documentation

• Identify products that do not meet applicable requirements
• Document nonconforming conditions accurately
• Record inspection findings
• Communicate nonconformances to appropriate personnel
• Support investigation and correction of quality concerns
• Reinspect corrected or reworked products when required
• Maintain organized and accurate quality records
• Help prevent nonconforming products from advancing through production

Cross-Functional Collaboration

The Quality Inspector will work closely with:

• Production personnel
• Welders and Fabricators
• Engineering
• Quality personnel
• Supervisors and manufacturing leadership

The successful candidate must be comfortable communicating quality concerns clearly while working collaboratively to resolve production issues.

• Comfortable working around welding, fabrication, and industrial production equipment
• Ability to safely wear all required PPE

• Combination of hands-on shop-floor inspection and quality documentation
