Job Description




Position Summary:


Performs assigned work and directs and monitors inspection duties of at least one inspector of a lower rating to independently use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspections of products such as machine parts, mechanical assemblies, purchased standard hardware, and the inspections of applied protective coatings. Uses various measuring devices to perform required inspections and accepts or rejects malfunctioning or non-conforming units or systems. Works from blueprints, digital models, diagrams, or other customer specifications and uses inspection instruments and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Perform hardness and conductivity verification to ensure aerospace components meet stringent mechanical and electrical property requirements. This involves conducting hardness testing, electrical conductivity measurements, and evaluations on aluminum, steel, and other aerospace alloys using certified inspection equipment. The inspector interprets results, identifies deviations from engineering specifications, and documents findings in accordance with aerospace quality standards such as AS9100, NADCAP, and customerspecific requirements. Close collaboration with quality engineering, manufacturing, and process control teams is essential to maintain material integrity, traceability, and regulatory compliance. Precision, strong technical judgment, and strict adherence to safety and inspection protocols define success in this position


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Perform hardness and conductivity testing
  • Observe and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods in all job assignments
  • Ensure product conformity through defined inspection operations using model-based inspection programs, blueprints, specifications, and manufacturing plans as appropriate
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product; Disposition internal and supplier rejections per BQMS requirements
  • Develop inspection plans; provide work holding, cycle time, and other continuous improvement suggestions
  • Instruct team members in product conformity practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned





Required Skills:


  • Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASM 14.5 including the ability to determine correct elevations, cross section, and detail views
  • Extensive knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to, surface plates, micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, bore gauges, and dial indicators
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
  • Thorough understanding of Syteline/ESI or other ERP systems; working knowledge of Quality-specific software
  • High proficiency in blueprint reading and manufacturing/inspection-related math skills
  • Very good manual dexterity and adept in the use of precision measuring tools
  • Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic English language skills and the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions
  • Willingness to learn and receive training, and train others as required





Required Experience and Education


  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years with recent aircraft machine shop and final inspection experience

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $22.00 to $33.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter
