Quality Inspector

Job Summary

Snelling is hiring a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for a sheet metal manufacturing facility in Bonham, TX. This position is responsible for inspecting fabricated sheet metal parts throughout production to ensure they meet blueprint, dimensional, and quality requirements.

Candidates must be able to read blueprints and accurately use a tape measure, calipers, and micrometers. Applicants will complete a hands-on skills assessment covering blueprint reading and precision measurement before placement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect sheet metal parts during fabrication, painting, assembly, and final finishing.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, tolerances, and work instructions.
• Measure parts using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Inspect incoming materials and products received from suppliers.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of components, subassemblies, and completed assemblies.
• Complete visual and dimensional inspections to identify defects or nonconforming parts.
• Accurately document inspection results and communicate quality concerns.
• Audit manufacturing processes and procedures for compliance with company quality standards.
• Work with production team members to identify and resolve quality issues.
• Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing or sheet metal inspection experience preferred.
• Blueprint reading experience required.
• Must be proficient with tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Must successfully complete a blueprint reading and measurement skills assessment.
• Basic math skills, including decimals and fractions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize dimensional or cosmetic defects.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Basic computer and documentation skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Understanding of ISO, QMS, or similar quality systems
