We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector with experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect precision machined components. This role is responsible for performing first article, in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, customer specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined parts in a manufacturing environment and is proficient with both CMM equipment and traditional inspection tools.
Key Responsibilities
Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
Program and/or operate CMM equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, and optical comparators.
Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
Identify and document nonconforming products and support root cause investigations.
Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
Maintain calibration awareness and proper care of inspection equipment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical education is a plus.
3+ years of quality inspection experience in a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience operating CMM equipment (programming experience is a plus).
Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings.
Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
