Job Overview

Saint-Gobain’s CertainTeed facility in Buchanan, NY, is seeking a dependable Production Worker / Quality Inspector to support manufacturing and quality control operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, production line work, material handling, or product inspection.

This position involves checking product quality, taking measurements, collecting samples, recording production information, and maintaining a safe work environment. Candidates with experience using measuring tools, performing quality checks, or completing production documentation are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality inspections and visual checks on products.

• Collect production samples and check product dimensions according to established procedures.

• Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to verify product measurements.

• Record inspection results, measurements, and production information accurately on forms or log sheets.

• Monitor products for defects, damage, scratches, or other quality issues.

• Assist with general production floor activities and material handling as needed.

• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and workplace safety guidelines.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety requirements.

• Work closely with production and quality team members to support daily manufacturing operations.

• Perform repetitive tasks and remain attentive to detail throughout the shift.

• Adapt to changing production schedules and shift assignments based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, material handling, or quality inspection.

• Ability to use a standard tape measure and read basic measurements.

• Experience with visual inspection, product checking, or quality control is preferred.

• Ability to complete paperwork, maintain records, and document measurements accurately.

• Basic computer skills are a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 lbs, with assistance as needed.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift throughout the work shift.

• Comfortable working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.

• Flexibility to work day or evening shifts based on production requirements.
