Quality Inspector - Cleveland, OH - JOB 26-00483
Pay Range: $21.00 - $31.00/HR Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits
A Cleveland, Ohio-area manufacture is hiring an experienced Quality Inspector. In this role, you will be responsible for both in-lab and on-the-production-floor testing, inspecting finished parts at various manufacturing stations to ensure strict conformance to customer and industry specifications.
Responsibilities
- Inspect machined workpieces at various inspection and machining stations to ensure conformance to specifications at multiple stages of production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering specifications to determine product details (e.g., specified material, surface finish, dimensions, and mechanical properties).
- Measure critical dimensions such as length, height, and distance between reference points using precision instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and snap gauges.
- Locate reference points and measure complex dimensions (angles, arcs, and radii) utilizing combination aids like surface plates, parallel bars, angle plates, gauge blocks, V-blocks, sine bars, and optical comparators.
- Test the surface finish of workpieces using surface profile measuring instruments and verify material hardness using Rockwell Hardness testers.
- Visually examine products for surface defects, micro-cracks, broken tooling, and other irregularities.
- Select products for testing at specified production stages, evaluate the collected data, and write detailed reports to validate quality or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Document and report all QA/QC findings directly to the Inspection Supervisor.
- Address quality issues with a high sense of urgency, comply with all company policies, and participate in continuing education programs identified by executive management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or a higher level of education.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and write comprehensive technical reports and documents.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond clearly to teams and supervisors.
- Proven ability to use and read precision measuring devices, including:
-Outside Micrometers & Depth Gauges
-Calipers & Snap Gauges
-Dial Indicators & Optical Comparators - Strong ability to collect data, establish objective facts, and draw valid conclusions based on those facts.
