The Quality Inspector is responsible for the inspection, documentation, and certification of critical components throughout the production process, including parts subject to flight safety requirements. This role ensures compliance with AS9100, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements through precise measurement and rigorous recordkeeping.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs various inspection activities utilizing precision inspection equipment at all phases of product manufacturing. Uses GD&T concepts, customer supplied specifications, and internal standards, to ensure compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Read and understand complex engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerance specifications.
  • Compare recorded measurements to blueprint dimensions and tolerances and notify specified persons of discrepancies using NCF and MRB process
  • Familiarity with the use of various inspection and measurement equipment, i.e. CMM, FARO Arm, Borescope, Optical Comparator, etc. preferred
  • Strong understanding of units of measure and applicability to GD&T principles
  • Must be self-motivated and able to adjust to a dynamic work environment and tempo while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong professional ethics combined with the ability to function well on teams.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or similarly regulated industry preferred.
  • Familiarity with performing various inspection activities to include, i.e., 1st piece, in-process, final inspections
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledgeable of MS Word, and Excel
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in the operation of CMM’s preferred (Mitutoyo/Metris/Zeiss)
  • Familiarity with operation/programming of FARO arm preferred
