SALARYRANGE:Theanticipatedsalaryrangeforthisroleis $23.00to$32.00perhour.Thisrangereflectsa good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the roleand typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. SUMMARY

Quality Inspector II performs complex dimensional, visual, and functional inspection of parts, assemblies, and special process work, including first article inspection (FAI) in accordance with AS9102, within an AS9100 certified aerospace and defense manufacturing environment. Exercising moderate independent judgment, the incumbent interprets complex drawings and GD&T, initiates nonconformance documentation, and provides guidance to entry level inspectors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Thefollowingjobfunctionsareabasicrequirementbutarenotlimitedtoandmaybeassignedotherduties.

• Perform complex receiving, in-process, source, and final inspection of machined parts, electromechanicalassemblies,andspecial-processproductagainstengineeringdrawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Interpretcomplexengineeringdrawingsandgeometricdimensioningandtolerancing(GD&T)per ASME Y14.5.
• Operateprecisioninspectionequipment,includingcoordinatemeasuringmachines(CMM),optical comparators, height gauges, and surface-finish instruments.
• Planandcompletefirstarticleinspections(FAI)andprepareFAIreportsinaccordancewithAS9102.
• Initiateanddocumentnonconformancereports(NCR),accuratelycharacterizedefects,andsupport material review board (MRB) activities.
• Verifyspecial-processandoutside-processingcertifications(forexample,heattreat,plating,welding, and conformal coat) against applicable specifications.
• Reviewinspectionandmeasurementdataforcompletenessandaccuracyandensureproperretention of quality records.
• Provideworkdirection,training,andtechnicalguidancetoQualityInspectorIpersonnel.
• Supportinternalaudits,calibrationcontrol,FOD,andESD(ANSI/ESDS20.20)programrequirements.
• Adheretoallquality,safety,ITAR/EAR,andenvironmentalrequirementsapplicabletotheworkarea.

REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS

Thefollowingareanon-exhaustivelistofqualificationsfortheposition:

• HighschooldiplomaorGEDrequired;technicalcertificateorassociatedegreeinarelatedfield preferred.
• 3to5yearsofinspectionexperience,including2ormoreyearsinanaerospaceordefense manufacturing environment.
• DemonstratedabilitytointerpretcomplexdrawingsandGD&TperASMEY14.5.
• Proficiencywithprecisionmeasuringequipment,includingCMMandopticalcomparators.
• Workingknowledgeoffirstarticleinspection(FAI)andAS9102requirements.
• Experiencedocumentingnonconformancesandsupportingroot-causeandcorrective-actionactivities.
• Strongattentiontodetail,organizationalskills,andtheabilitytoworkwithminimalsupervision.

PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS

• ASQCertifiedQualityInspector(CQI)orequivalentcertification.
• ExperiencewithCMMprogrammingandsoftware(forexample,PCDMISorCalypso).
• FamiliaritywithAS9100,MRBprocesses,andcustomer-specificqualityrequirements.
• Experienceinspectingelectronic,battery,orfuelcellassemblies.

WORKENVIRONMENTANDPHYSICALREQUIREMENTS

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area.Employees willusestandardofficeequipment,includingcomputers,andmustdemonstratestaminatosit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in personandoverthetelephone.Additionally,thepositionmaynecessitatetravelbyairorautomobile.Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
