The Fabric Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of fabric products to ensure they meet company quality standards, customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product excellence and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Verify product dimensions, unpackage rolls and look for paperwork
Shade match fabric to the swatch for color match
Enter the fabric into the AS400 system, per paperwork that came with the fabric
Inspect the rolls of fabric to look for flaws
Stock fabric in designated shelves
Abide by all company safety and hygiene regulations
Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures
Keep warehouse clean and organized daily
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred).
2+ years of experience in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, upholstery, or quality control.
Strong understanding of furniture construction methods and materials.
Ability to read work orders.
Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection procedures.
Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
Ability to lift and move furniture as required.
Familiarity with ISO quality standards.
Experience using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, levels).
Strong problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work under deadlines in a production environment.
Work Environment
Manufacturing or warehouse setting.
Exposure to finishes, adhesives, and upholstery materials.
Standing for extended periods and handling large pieces of furniture.
Lifting up to 60 pounds
