Quality Inspector - Level 1
Job Summary
Under direct supervision, inspect products and assist with quality audits. Test and sample raw materials and incoming products to ensure compliance with company standards. Carry out diversified bench, first piece or floor inspections using simple inspection tools. Devise ordinary gauging or measuring set-ups. May be responsible for approving products for distribution. Ensure labeling meets company and governmental regulations.
Responsibility
First-off inspection, receiving inspection and in-process inspection.
Product and LPA audits.
Utilize manual gauging and operate CMM as required.
Inspecting incoming material per receiving inspection requirements.
Sporting of product based on visual aids.
Completion of necessary forms and paperwork.
Understand TS processes for nonconforming material, identification and inspection processes.
Other assignments as needed to support internal and external customers.
Adhere to all Health and Safety, environment laws and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Academic/Educational Requirements
Required Skills/Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent general education.
Previous high pressure die casting (HPDC) experience is considered an asset.
Knowledge of S.P.C (Histograms, X and R charts, Cpk).
Able to read blueprints and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability to read and understand company procedure manuals.
Must be able to use measuring equipment effectively, micrometers, verniers, height and bore gauges.
Measure or weigh products to assess conformity and quality standards, basic math skills required.
Ability to resolve conflicts and determine product errors using technical skills.
Make continuous improvement recommendations to quality management.
Possess interpersonal skills to interact with supervisors to co-ordinate work and exchange information.
Interact with operators to monitor progress and ensure work is corrected and up to quality standards.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment coordinating work with necessary departments.
Use of computer applications to monitor quality.
Maintain continuous learning in order to keep up with new developments in field.
