Make Precision the Standard in Electronics Manufacturing as a Quality Inspector
Location: Maple Grove, MN | Payrate: $24/hour | Schedule: 6am to 2:30pm
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading electronics manufacturing company to find a detail-oriented Quality Inspector who takes pride in precision, quality, and getting the job done right.
In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring parts, components, and assemblies meet exacting specifications and industry standards. Your attention to detail will directly impact product quality, customer satisfaction, and the success of advanced electronics manufacturing programs.
The Opportunity
As a Quality Inspector, you’ll inspect production parts, components, and assemblies using precision measurement equipment, microscopes, electrical test equipment, blueprints, and established inspection procedures.
You’ll work closely with Quality Engineers and manufacturing teams while supporting rigorous ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS 9100, Nadcap, and NASA-STD-8739 requirements.

What You’ll Do
Inspect parts, components, and assemblies for conformance to established specifications and requirements.
Interpret and work from internally generated and externally supplied blueprints, inspection procedures, work instructions, and process sheets.
Perform precision measurements using equipment such as:
Micrometers
Vernier calipers
Drop indicators
Height indicators
Surface plates
Comparators
Toolmaker’s microscopes
Other precision mechanical inspection equipment
Perform electrical testing in accordance with inspection procedures, work instructions, and blueprint requirements.
Use microscopes and other inspection equipment to evaluate components and assemblies.
Accurately record inspection results and data on required documentation.
Generate inspection documents in accordance with departmental procedures.
Identify quality issues and make recommendations for corrective action.
Make inspection decisions based on engineering drawings, specifications, and established procedures.
Follow all applicable ISO 9001 and AS 9100 requirements, work instructions, and departmental procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Take prompt action to identify and correct safety or quality concerns.
Collaborate with coworkers to meet production and quality goals.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with training other employees and orientation of new team members as needed.
Support other manufacturing areas or departments when workload requires.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints, inspection procedures, and process sheets.
Ability to make inspection decisions using established specifications and requirements.
Working knowledge of measurement tools and inspection equipment.
Ability to perform electrical testing of components using established procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently with general supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Ability to work effectively and maintain positive relationships with coworkers.
Must be able to successfully complete required J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certifications to qualify for Inspector responsibilities.
Successful completion of required pre-hire and biennial visual examinations, including 20/20 visual acuity with or without corrective lenses and standard color vision requirements.
Ability to perform job functions while using a microscope.
Preferred Qualifications
Vocational training in electronics or mechanical disciplines.
Previous experience in a quality, inspection, electronics, or technical manufacturing role.
Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Experience with statistical process control (SPC).
Experience with electrical and mechanical inspection equipment.
IPC-A-620 certification or the ability to obtain certification.
Familiarity with aerospace, defense, medical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
Work Environment
Work is performed primarily in a seated position.
Regular use of microscopes and precision inspection equipment is required.
The role requires strong visual attention to detail and the ability to distinguish colors accurately.
The position supports a highly regulated manufacturing environment where adherence to documented processes and quality standards is essential.
