Quality Inspector - Mechanical Inspection

Position Title: Quality Inspector / Senior Quality Inspector

Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct-hire opportunity for a Quality Inspector or Senior Quality Inspector with our client located in Kirkland, WA.

Job Description:

• This role is a technical anchor within the mechanical cell, responsible for precision verification and inspection procedures.
• Working from blueprints, engineering change notices, and established operating procedures, you will bridge the gap between engineering specifications and finished hardware, ensuring the integrity of complex mechanical components throughout the production lifecycle.

Job Responsibilities:

• Precision Inspection: Utilize complex measuring devices to perform high-level verification of purchased parts, materials, components, and equipment received from vendors or subcontractors.
• Engineering Alignment: Work directly from blueprints, engineering change notices, and operating procedures to determine acceptance, rejection, or rework requirements for mechanical assemblies.
• Quality Assurance & Validation: Inspect critical in-process and finished production assemblies for conformance to drawings and quality assurance standards.
• FAI Validation: Review, validate, and correct First Article Inspection (FAI) paperwork from suppliers to ensure compliance with internal quality requirements.
• Technical Documentation: Identify non-conformances and write clear, concise technical reports to assist engineering in root cause analysis.
• Process Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the receiving and in-process inspection groups.

Job Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• Quality Inspector: Typically 1+ years of direct experience in the duties, responsibilities, and skills required for this role.
• Senior Quality Inspector: Typically 3+ years of direct experience in mechanical inspection.
• Technical Skills: Advanced understanding required to perform precise inspections and verification tasks within a mechanical cell. Ability to quickly master standards and obtain necessary certifications to work independently.
• Software & Data: Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experience utilizing departmental systems to collect and evaluate inspection data.
• Precision Skills: Keen attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to internal systems and tools to perform inspection tasks.

Job Details:

• Job Type: Direct Hire
• Location: Kirkland, WA.
• Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday | 8 hours/day with a 30-minute meal break.
• Salary Range:
  • Quality Inspector: $21.93 – $29.67/hr. (Midpoint: $25.80).
  • Senior Quality Inspector: $24.52 – $36.79/hr. (Midpoint: $30.65).
• ITAR obligations are associated with this role; U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, or protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a) (1), (3) is required.
• Background Screen: An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.
