Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Salary: $20-$25/hr, Commensurate with Experience

Schedule: M-F, 5:00am - 1:30pm

Summary:

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Job Functions:

• Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities, such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.

• Records test data per inspection plans, applying statistical quality control procedures if appropriate.

• Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

• Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

• Performs in-process inspection and first-piece approval of parts utilizing OGP, CMM, comparator and /or hand instruments, gages and fixtures.

• Maintains and analyzes inspection data in SPC software, analyzes capability, and determines appropriate actions for deviant conditions.

• Set up and perform destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.

• Prepare graphs or charts of data or enter data into computer for analysis.

• Calibrates gages, fixtures and other measuring equipment or devices. Maintains records of these calibrations.

Job Requirements:

• Requires a High School diploma or 5 years in a manufacturing environment.

• Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts.

• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, email, and familiarity with manufacturing ERP systems.

• Be able to work overtime after the regular shift for additional inspection coverage if requested.

Working Conditions: the employee is subject to:

• High noise levels from operating machines.

• Physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts.

• Breathing fumes, dust and mist.

• Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid.

• Required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.

• Required to exert up to 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
