The Precision Quality Inspector performs diversified receiving, first-piece, in-process patrol, and final acceptance inspections on production tooling and electrical connectors to ensure full compliance with Burndy product specifications. Additionally, this role oversees departmental gage calibration programs, manages CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and software updates, coordinates nuclear connector certifications, and assists with quality purchasing, expense forecasting, and audit preparation.

Pay rate:
- 1st Shift: $21.56/hr base rate
- 2nd Shift: $21.56/hr base rate + $3.00/hr Shift Differential = $24.56/hr
- 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (Overtime as needed)

Additionally, this role oversees departmental gage calibration programs, manages CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and software updates, coordinates nuclear connector certifications, and assists with quality purchasing, expense forecasting, and audit preparation.
Job Specifications
- Perform receiving, first-piece acceptance, in-process patrol, and final proof sampling inspections; generate formal Quality Notifications for non-conforming materials
- Inspect tooling, electrical connectors, and nuclear-grade connectors, verifying and certifying all associated material test reports
- Manage the plant calibration program for all precision gages and measurement instruments; execute vendor calibration purchase requisitions and verify off-site vendor gages
- Write, update, and manage CMM programs and associated hardware/software updates to support first-piece inspection workflows
- Prepare monthly Quality Department expense forecasts for replacement gages, materials, and service contract renewals
- Interface directly with internal and external quality auditors during quarterly and annual compliance audits
- Collaborate with Engineering, Customer Service, and Production teams to troubleshoot defects and drive continuous quality improvements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong precision inspection background with experience reading blueprints and utilizing precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, gages) required
- Proven computer skills including Windows navigation, Microsoft Office (advanced Excel proficiency), and typing skills required
- Prior experience with CMM programming and calibration program coordination strongly preferred
- Strong problem-solving, research, and communication skills with meticulous attention to detail required
