Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Quality Inspector to support manufacturing and repair operations by ensuring products meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This position is responsible for performing inspections throughout the production process, maintaining quality records, and supporting continuous compliance with quality and safety procedures.
Job Description
- Perform incoming inspection of raw materials and components.
- Conduct in-process inspections during manufacturing and repair operations.
- Complete final inspections prior to product shipment.
- Inspect purchased components and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Operate and maintain quality control systems and documentation.
- Perform additional quality-related tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Complete all required training and demonstrate competency before working independently.
- Obtain and maintain any required certifications or licenses for specialized operations (such as forklift operation, if applicable).
- Identify workplace hazards and environmental aspects and apply appropriate control measures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Perform daily maintenance of inspection equipment and tools.
- Properly handle and control chemicals in accordance with safety requirements and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS).
- Maintain accurate inspection records and communicate quality concerns promptly.
Skills Required
- Minimum of 2 years of quality control experience, preferably in a manufacturing, machining, or repair shop environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer skills.
- Experience using precision inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and other dimensional measurement equipment.
- Ability to perform accurate dimensional inspections and document results.
- Ability to work independently while following established procedures and quality standards.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience in manufacturing and machining environments.
- Knowledge of Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) inspection methods.
- Level II NDE certification preferred.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
Education
- Highschool diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $27 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Requirements
- Schedule: M-F; 10-12 hour day shift
- Ability to sit for extended periods as needed.
- Lift up to 25 pounds from floor to waist.
- Carry up to 15 pounds with one hand and up to 50 pounds with two hands.
- Ability to walk on a variety of indoor and outdoor surfaces when required.
- Maintain adequate depth perception and color vision for inspection activities.
- Operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver's license, if required.
