PGS Worldwide is seeking a Quality Inspector in Oxnard, CA for a one-year onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Quality Inspector will support repair and manufacturing programs by ensuring products conform to engineering drawings, quality management requirements, and contractual specifications. This role includes visual, dimensional, functional, receiving, and in-process inspections on spacecraft components, mechanical assemblies, electrical assemblies, and structural components. The position requires quality inspection experience, blueprint reading, dimensional inspection skills, and experience documenting non-conforming material.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of additional education and/or direct experience in a quality assurance or inspection role.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience with blueprints.
• Experience with dimensional inspection.
• Experience inspecting mechanical assemblies.
• Experience with non-conformance reporting.
• Experience using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, gages, pin gages, and related inspection tools.
• Ability to inspect visually in-process and completed products using prescribed methods, operations, setups, and specifications.
• Ability to perform visual, dimensional, functional, and related inspections.
• Ability to work from drawings, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions.
• Ability to accept, reject, or disposition defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
• Ability to maintain detailed inspection records, logs, and reports.

Preferred Skills

• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to read and understand control plans, work instructions, drawings, bills of material, specifications, and related criteria.
• Understanding of GD&T.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working in a team environment to solve problems and balance workloads.
• Experience with electronics workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620.
• Experience in aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, and/or electronic assemblies.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect in-process and completed products for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Perform required inspections on spacecraft components, including visual, dimensional, and functional inspections.
• Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machines.
• Inspect and test mechanical, electrical, and structural components and assemblies.
• Support manufacturing operations and engineering teams with process and documentation issues.
• Identify, document, and track non-conforming material.
• Assist with identifying root causes for quality issues.
• Perform receiving inspection on incoming purchased parts and materials.
• Inspect parts and materials against vendor certifications and engineering requirements.
• Maintain inspection records, logs, and reports.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Second shift, 2:30 PM - 12:00 AM.

Pay

• $59.22 per hour
